Powerful Hydraulics
Powerful hydraulic, arm and bucket forces – with horsepower to spare – help you get the job done quickly and efficiently.
Class-leading hydraulics provide reliable, steady power, saving time with every digging cycle. When the going gets tough, the convenient power-boost button on the right-hand joystick temporarily increases hydraulic power, allowing you to break through hard ground.
More slew torque means more power for slewing uphill, backfilling and all-around better productivity.
A combination of tail swing and hydraulic power delivers leading lifting capability, enabling you to lift more with greater confidence – so you can pick and place items with ease.
Two variable displacement axial piston pumps provide maximum speed, power and efficiency to deliver fast cycle times, in even the most difficult digging conditions.
Four Power Modes
Four selectable power modes give you adaptable performance to tackle the job as you see fit. Whether your priority is efficient fuel consumption or all-out power for tough digging and heavy lifting, you can set performance to the demands of the job. All from the comfort of your cab.
Power+ mode: Get top work group speed to load trucks in less time or sustain peak digging performance when opening up hard ground.
Power mode: Command impressive power and performance for tough digging, quick loading and heavy lifting, and save even more time with fast travel.
Standard mode: Get balanced performance and reduced fuel usage for routine digging, lifting and grading.
Economy mode: Optimize fuel economy when power demands are lower or when doing precise digging and fine grading.
Selectable Work Modes
Match performance to task, choosing from four work modes that tailor the large excavator’s power for digging or lifting. Two of the modes change the auxiliary hydraulic flow to use different types of attachments or protect hydraulic system components.
Digging: This default setting delivers the power and response you need for general operation, from excavation to loading and lifting. The large excavator’s digging performance can be further enhanced with the four power modes.
Smart Power Control (SPC): While in digging work mode, SPC matches load to engine rpm, hydraulic pump torque and engine response, improving efficiency in any of the four power modes. Activate it in digging work mode, and turn it off whenever necessary.
Lifting: Increase pump torque, lower engine rpm and provide an automatic power boost for lifting materials and objects – like pipe or concrete barriers.
Breaker: Also called one-way auxiliary hydraulic flow, this mode works great for attachments that only require hydraulic power from one direction, such as breakers or plate compactors.
Shear: Also called two-way auxiliary hydraulic flow, this mode is best for excavator attachments that need bi-directional hydraulic flow, such as a hydraulic clamp, tilting bucket or shear.
Turbocharged Engine - 115 hp (Gross), 109 hp (Net)
Designed for high torque at low rpm, the turbocharged, 115-hp Bobcat engine is made for reliable, efficient performance on your most challenging jobs. Turbocharged performance ensures consistent torque levels, regardless of the elevation where you work. The engine meets Tier 4 emissions standards without a diesel particulate filter (DPF). This solution reduces downtime lost to DPF regeneration and minimizes long-term maintenance costs.
Variable Speed Control
Variable Speed Control improves fuel efficiency up to 5% by automatically reducing engine rpm during low workload requirements, such as the slew portion of a dig cycle.
Auto Shift
When turning, pushing and maneuvering, the auto shift feature improves machine responsiveness and controllability by automatically shifting to low range when the load is high and shifting back to high range when the load diminishes. All you need to do is control speed and direction.
X-Frame Undercarriage
Get increased ground clearance and maneuverability on softer ground with the X-frame undercarriage. It has sloped surfaces that shed debris to prevent material buildup and reduce the time you spend cleaning the undercarriage.
Tier 4 Compliant
The large excavator’s engine meets all of the latest Tier 4 emissions requirements.
Conventional Tail Swing
Large excavators with a conventional tail swing deliver the best possible lift capacity compared to models with the reduced tail swing.
Auto Idle
Save fuel and reduce noise to improve operator comfort and jobsite communications. Auto idle, a standard feature, idles the engine automatically when excavator movement stops for several seconds. When you move the joystick controls or initiate travel, the engine automatically returns to the previously set throttle position.
Pump Torque Control
Pump Torque Control prevents engine overload by matching the hydraulic demand with available engine horsepower.
Comfort:
Premium Cab
The Bobcat reputation for comfort continues with a premium cab that offers a variety of features to help operators power through the toughest jobs.
Quiet Operation: The pressurized cab features a seamless sound-isolating seal to keep sound levels extremely low inside the large excavator’s operator station. Thorough sound isolation – down to individual components – reduces noise output outside the cab. The cabin frame and seat are even designed to minimize vibration and maximize your comfort.
Adjustable Comfort: The heated air suspension seat is standard and offers a wide range of adjustment points to help any operator find optimal comfort. Individual adjustments can be made to the control stand, seat cushion, back recline, lumbar support, headrest and more.
Additional Deluxe Cabin Features: The large excavator cab offers generous floor space, a wide entry/exit door, 180-degree swinging door and grab handles. For added comfort, a radio and antenna, CD player and MP3 player input, and 12V power port are all standard features.
Clear Visibility
The large cabin provides superior visibility to the front and sides. An overhead window gives you great visibility above the machine. Narrow corner pillars and small window joints – as well as a removable lower-front window – provide a view that allows you to see the work comfortably, without obstruction or strain. Even the window wiper is mounted on the pillar instead of on the glass surface. Front and top sun shades provide additional protection from eye strain while enhancing comfort.
Uptime Protection:
Automatic Belt Tensioner
The automatic belt tensioner maintains constant tension on the engine accessory belt, compensating for regular wear and maintaining the performance you demand.
Protected Components
Bobcat large excavators are designed to keep you working longer with standard features that improve uptime, including heavy-duty materials plus components that are protected from damage or wear and that require minimal or no maintenance.
Vandalism Protection Features
Your productivity depends on your excavator, but equipment is a common target for vandalism, misuse and even theft. Bobcat 14-16-ton size-class excavators include a variety of features that protect your investment.
An anti-theft protection password reduces the chance of stolen equipment or unauthorized use.
Lockable covers protect machine components from vandalism.
Lockable fuel fill points reduce the chance of diesel theft or contamination.
Versatility:
Roller Switch and Foot Pedal Attachment Control
The roller switch on the right joystick or the foot pedal attachment control allow operators to control and vary the speed at which a two-way hydraulic attachment functions, making it easy to open or close a hydraulic clamp.
Serviceability:
Easy Component Access
This 14-16T size-class excavator includes wide-open access covers that provide plenty of room to reach the top side of the engine, while a hinged belly pan allows access from the bottom. Solid steel side covers give you quick access to regular daily maintenance items for easy upkeep and more uptime.
Centralized Boom Grease Points
Centralized grease banks are located on the base of the boom to make essential daily maintenance of large excavators quick and easy.
Self Diagnostics
Track machine performance in real time and access historical machine alerts via the bright, easy-to-read LCD monitor.
