Description
Custom built in 1996, the Mr Z tieback machine is mounted on a 1994 Komatsu PC220LF-6 crawler-mounted hydraulic excavator with a Komatsu S6D 102-1 diesel engine, hydraulic motor drive. A 400 Cummins diesel engine with a 27 Sunstrand pump turns the auger at speeds of up to 96 RPM. This produces 15,000 ft-lbs of torque at 96 RPM, or 30,000 ft-lbs of torque at 47 RPM. Mr Z is designed for 4" drill pipe with drag bit, going up to 16" continuous flight auger, and has 60 ft of drill stroke. Mr Z can also be used with a 16" down the hole hammer.
