Description
1998 Liebherr HS-883 hydraulic crawler crane with superstructure. 600kw Mercedes diesel engine. Upper structure added counterweight 15,400 lbs. Undercarriage added counterweight 15,400 lbs. Tracks 26'-6" long with 39" wide crawler pads. Two main winches, 66,100 lb each with free fall. Auxiliary winch 15,500 lbs. 200 ft boom with 132t hook block. Litronic control system. Added hydraulics for oscillator/rotator guide rails.
This crane was completely rebuilt by WHECO in 2014 at approximately 20,000 hours. It literally had everything removed, rebuilt and replaced (engine, hydraulic pumps, hydraulic motors, Zollern winches, track final drives, undercarriage, wiring harness and paint). When it was done it looked like a brand-new crane. The operating costs for this crane will be less than a newer un-refurbished HS883 for sure. So anyone that knows anything about these cranes knows if it’s done right you can get another 20 years out of this crane after it has been rebuilt. Total rebuild cost was $1,066,373.
