    Description
UNCOMPROMISED PRODUCTIVITY Your land is your life blood — the more you can get from it the better. The 175XL2 was built to make the most of your limited time, prepping your land for maximum production. With its larger capacity, you can quickly reshape drainage ways, repair washouts, and clear new acreage. POLE: Extending the Pole length increases clearance between the tractor and Front Section on tight turns. And all Ashland Pole hitches are made by inserting a steel thrust block into the neck of a steel, “C” shaped plate. The yoke system and thrust collar are then placed in their correct positions to be welded 360 degrees around. This design gives Ashland scrapers a full range of motion from the hitch and maximum potential pull-through to the back side of the Pole or the spindle base plate. SOCKET SYSTEM: The new Control Ball & Socket System creates a perfect link between Gooseneck and Dolly-Pole. After 60 years of Ashland’s cast socket halves, we have developed an adjustable socket system. Machined from a solid billet of steel, it guarantees a precision fit at all times while improving the greasing characteristics of the system. As the joint between the ball & socket begins to wear, simply remove shims as needed to tighten the fit on the 5.5″ ball. FRONT SECTION: The overall effectiveness of a scraper starts with the Front Section. You’ll notice that Ashland scrapers have a long Gooseneck design that secures to the Front Section pipe. No square tubing here. More importantly, this design allows the dolly wheels to have a greater range of motion to keep the wheels farther away from the “fall zone” and avoid interference with the ejection process. All supported by friction welded 5″ x 20″ vertically mounted lift cylinders with a nitro-bar rod. FRONT PIPE: Round structures, such as the heavy wall pipe that Ashland uses in its Front Section, handle torsional loads (twisting loads) much better than square or rectangle tubing. With rounded pipe, the stress of your load is displaced around the entire circumference of the structure — with any other style, stress is amplified in the corners and seams. Concentrated stress can cause the tubing to fail in these areas, making our Front Section pipe a superior design. APRON: What good is all that capacity if you can’t hold on to it? The Apron uses big 4” x 13” hydraulic cylinders for maximum clamping force. The cylinders and strategic pivot points quickly open the apron to a gaping 62”. Tight tolerances between the Apron and side walls prevent material from wedging in gaps and eventually bending the Apron and sidewalls. BOWL: The 175XL2 has a 17.5 cu. yd. heaped capacity and an 14.1 cu. yd. struck capacity. Everything starts with its solid foundation. Ashland uses a dual plated floor on every scrapers substructure. From rocks to stumps and everything in between, the floor is built to take a beating. Behind the blades are a 3/4” steel plate (the frog) with punched holes. These punched holes act as a shield against dirt and wear on the plow bolts and nuts. The frog also serves as reinforcement for the channel iron underneath the pan. HYDRAULIC VALVE: The 175XL’s valve assembly functions on a dual cartridge system, using a Sequence and Counter Balance Valve. When engaged, this allows the Apron to open fully prior to the Pushoff moving forward to eject material. Once the ejector wall (Pushoff) has thrust the payload forward, the operator can reverse the control lever in the cab, allowing the ejector wall to retract while the Apron remains open. This system gives the operator the ability to begin loading the scraper immediately. Once the ejector wall is fully retracted to the rear of the Bowl, the sequencing cartridge will divert oil to the Apron — at that point, the Apron will close fully. If you’d prefer to control your scraper’s Apron independently from the ejector, there is a three circuit option for greater control. PUSHOFF: Dirt in and dirt out – as fast as possible, that is the name of the game. The Pushoff on an Ashland scraper is designed to get material out quick and clean. The rear framework and Pushoff face are a completely welded system. Three massive rectangular pieces of tubing are welded into a square shape and then welded onto a round tube back bumper for a flex-free structure. This frame supports the 2.5” rod and 5” x 60” Pushoff cylinder connected to the face-plate. WHEEL SYSTEM: Regardless of your soil condition, there is a tire package available to keep you floating on the soil and moving forward. A super capacity 10-bolt hub system is integrated on Ashland scrapers which allow easy tire service and maintenance. The rear tires on this scraper are 29.5 x 25. The front dolly wheel tires are 20.5 x 25. CAPACITY, HEAPED: (ISO 6485) 17.5 CU. YD. CAPACITY, STRUCK: (ISO 6485) 14.1 CU. YD.
