New Manitowoc MLC650 ROTATING BED: Rotating bed, upper and lower modules are fabricated steel connected by four power-actuated pins. Hydraulic connection of upper and lower module is made through hydraulic quick couplers. DRUMS: Basic machine is equipped with two 1248 mm (49”) wide and 660 mm (26” ) diameter Main hoist drums one mounted in the boom butt and one mounted in the 4 m (13') insert. Main hoist drums are grooved for 32 mm wire rope. Each end of each drum is driven by a variable-displacement hydraulic motor through a planetary reduction. Each drum drive is equipped with a bi-directional drum brake. Whip drum is mounted in the rotating bed and is 822 mm (32”) wide and 641 mm (25.25”) diameter. Whip drum is grooved for 28 mm wire rope and driven by a variable-displacement motor through a planetary reduction. Rotation indicator for each main and whip drum is standard. BOOM HOIST: Boom hoist is powered by variable-displacement hydraulic motors coupled to a planetary reduction and is equipped with a ratchet and pawl. Boom hoist drum is 470 mm (18.5") wide and 787 mm (31") in diameter. SWING SYSTEM: Bearing adapter-mounted independent swing is powered by two fixed-displacement hydraulic motors coupled to an internal brake and planetary reduction. Auto-lube for turntable bearing is standard. OPERATOR'S STATION: The Vision Cab is a fully enclosed and insulated galvannealed steel module mounted to the left front corner of rotating bed. Module is equipped with power tilt, sliding door, large safety glass windows on all sides and roof. Signal horn, cab space heater, front and roof windshield wipers, dome light, sun visor and shade, fire extinguisher, air conditioning, swing and travel alarms, LMI warning light, and radio are standard equipment. Operator's station pivots to be repositioned for transportation. Protective nylon window covers are standard. ENGINE: Cummins QSX15-600 diesel engine, rated 447 kW (600 HP), provides independent power for all machine operations through a multi-hydraulic pump transmission. Power system also includes engine block heater, transmission disconnect clutch for cold weather starting, emissions compliant Tier 4 after treatment, hydraulic oil cooler, radiator and fan as standard. 1170 liter (295 gal) capacity diesel fuel tank is mounted in upperworks with level indicator in operator’s cab. 200 hour engine service kit and 1000 hour hydraulic service filter kit are provided with initial shipment. CONTROLS: The Crane Control System offers a user-friendly interface, two full graphic displays mounted horizontally for better visibility, a jog dial for easier data input and ergonomic joysticks. CARBODY ASSEMBLY: Connects rotating bed and crawler frames. Fabricated steel rotating bed adapter frame mounts to single-piece carbody via a 3 m (9' 10") diameter turntable bearing. Each crawler frame is mounted to the carbody with FACT™ connection system power-actuated connection pins. CRAWLER ASSEMBLIES: Crawler assemblies are 11,1 m (36' 5") long with 1520 mm (60") wide cast steel crawler treads and lubricated intermediate rollers, assembled to a fabricated steel frame. Each crawler is powered independently by two variable-displacement hydraulic motors. Carbody mounted drive motors are connected to crawler final reduction via telescoping shafts. Left and right side crawlers are interchangeable to provide assembly/disassembly flexibility on job sites. Crawlers provide ample tractive effort that allows counter-rotation with full rated load. Auto-lube for crawlers is standard. LIVE MAST: Moving mast is 11 m (36') long and connects the boom hoist reeving to the steel boom suspension strap rigging. When used with optional self-erect package including mast hoist cylinder, the mast may be utilized for assembly and disassembly operations. It is capable of lifting and positioning the crawler assemblies and assembling the boom and jib. BASIC BOOM: Liftcrane is equipped with 32 m (105') of No. 680 basic boom consisting of 6 m (19.7') No. 680 butt, 4 m (13.1) No. 680 insert, 12 m (39.4) No. 680 XH insert , and 10 m (32.8) No. 680 boom top with sixteen 762 mm (30") diameter straight roller bearing sheaves. Includes rope guides, boom hoist wire rope, boom angle indicator and 22,2 mton (24.5 ton) capacity, 1 095 kgs (2,414 lbs.) hook and cylindrical weight ball as standard. No. 680 boom utilizes steel suspension straps and Manitowoc's FACT™ connection system. Rigging winch with frame, boom position light, luffing jib prep, walkways and anemometer are standard. VPC COUNTERWEIGHT: Total upperworks counterweight assembly weighs 199 960 kg (440,900 lbs.) and consists of single piece counterweight tray weighing 19 960 kg (44,000 lbs.) and eighteen (18) side counterweight boxes weighing 10 000 kg (22,050 lbs.) each.
