THE SPEED YOU NEED
The 1410E is the fastest loading scraper in its class. Experience the precision of an ejector scraper without sacrificing time during material offload. A modular design, 2- or 4-tire option, ‘greaseless’ fiber bushings — this machine is packed with features you will not find anywhere else.
TWO HITCH SYSTEMS AVAILABLE:
AG CAT. 4 HITCH
Ashland Industries now offers an affordable alternative hitch for coupling a direct-mount scraper to your tractor. The Ag Cat. 4 Hitch allows the operator to use the tractor’s existing standard hammer strap drawbar to connect with a direct-mount scraper 14 cu.yds. or smaller.
The tractor must have the Category 4 HD high-capacity drawbar factory installed. When operating, the drawbar must be installed in the most forward position on the tractor. This is required for better weight distribution and ballasting of the tractor while transporting loaded scraper.
Do not exceed the tractors maximum vertical load limit on the drawbar.
The Ag Cat. 4 Hitch has a massive 4″ horizontal swivel pin to handle the rough service of most construction applications. The large 3″ custom clamp nut allows the operator to make periodic service adjustments to maintain retention of the front yoke. Lastly, the pivot joints feature numerous grease points to ensure wear parts can be proper lubricated.
SPECIAL DRAWBAR HITCH
By running your tractors drawbar pin horizontally through the hitch’s two ears, your scraper can be mounted closer to the tractors rear axle. This setup helps significantly to keep the front MFWD tractor weighed down. The drawbars vertical pin is mounted 22″ behind the horizontal drawbar pin to provide you with a superior turning radius.
Over-engineered with a higher strength material and additional support gussets. the heavy steel bulkhead and rigid hose stand keep hydraulic lines safe and secure.
TEFLON BUSHINGS:
All the main pivot points and cylinders utilize PTFE-Lined Fiber bushings, commonly referred to as greaseless or Teflon bushings. These bushings, in conjunction with chrome or nickel plated pins will run day after day without any lubricating grease necessary. This cutting edge technology minimizes much of the daily maintenance and creates peace of mind. Ashland has worked towards placing greaseless bushings in all the hard-to-reach spots and reduce the manual grease points by 80%.
FRONT SECTION:
The Pole is box built with an internal skeleton vs. formed halves to increase rigidity. Bolted directly to the Bowl sides, the Pole stays locked in place and eliminates contortion on the assembly. And with an elevated Front Section pipe, operators can take advantage of unmatched visibility and greater clearance while loading piles or in areas with heavy debris such as tall grass or brush.
APRON:
The scraper has a spacious front opening for material to easily fall forward and be leveled out by the blade while ejecting. Uses big 4” x 13” greaseless hydraulic cylinders for maximum clamping force. The side of Ashland Aprons have close tolerance to the Bowls sidewalls — this tight fit ensures that debris won’t bend the Apron inward as the ejector moves forward.
BOWL:
The 1410E has a 14 cu. yd. heaped capacity and a 9 cu. yd. struck capacity, with a dual plated floor system. This system consists of two heavy plates that support both the top and bottom edges of the moldboard, ensuring that the floor will remain straight and strong when coming in contact with large objects such as stumps or rocks. The large diameter Pushoff cylinder incorporated with the a shorter Bowl floor equates to a ridiculously fast unload.
A modular bolt-together Bowl assembly assists in manufacturing a scraper to higher tolerances, interchangeability, and rigidity. Without the need for weld at the bolt-on joints, the introduction of excessive heat never occurs — this heat can cause warping of the overall structure.
The scraper incorporates a five piece blade set secured with grade eight bolts and nuts. The protruding center blade extends longer than the neighboring corner blades to bite into material.
HYDRAULIC VALVE:
The 14010E’s valve assembly functions on a dual cartridge system, using a Sequence and Counter Balance Valve. When engaged, this allows the Apron to open fully prior to the Pushoff moving forward to eject material. Once the ejector wall (Pushoff) has thrust the payload forward, the operator can reverse the control lever in the cab, allowing the ejector wall to retract while the Apron remains open. This system gives the operator the ability to begin loading the scraper immediately. Once the ejector wall is fully retracted to the rear of the Bowl, the sequencing cartridge will divert oil to the Apron — at that point, the Apron will close fully.
If you’d prefer to control your scraper’s Apron independently from the ejector, there is a three circuit option for greater control.
PUSHOFF:
We mount the ejector cylinder low on the ejector wall, close to the floor, so the machine pushes right where the load is sitting. The Pushoff face is a completely welded system. Massive rectangular pieces of tubing are welded into a square torsion box shape, with a box-built tail structure. This frame supports the 2.5” rod and 4.5” x 40” Pushoff cylinder connected to the face-plate. With the adjustable angle headache rack, you can load the scraper in a variety of ways.
2-TIRE OR 4-TIRE REAR SECTION:
Ashland’s modular design allows for multiple wheel configurations to suit your earth moving needs. Both available Rear Sections are interchangeable with the Bowl of the scraper. A 2-Tire system assists in creating less rolling resistance and a taller profile for ‘climbing’. Whereas the 4-Tire variety will have a more even compaction across the width of the machine. Either of these versions use two massive 4-1/2″ axles and cast hubs.
WHEEL SYSTEM:
There are 2 unique rear wheel systems to choose from. The 2-tire variant runs 20.5 x 25 tires, while the 4-tire machine will use 17.5 x 25 tires. Regardless of your soil condition, there is a tire package available to keep you moving over the soil. The duel-axle assembly with a super duty 10-bolt hub is mated into a keyed pillow-block clamping apparatus. By removing the 2 bolts from each clamp, the axle wheel system can be easily rolled away from the machine, allowing for fast tire service and maintenance.
